Puppy training starts the moment you welcome your pup into your home!

Everyone wants a well-behaved dog, but knowing where to start when you've just brought your excitable puppy home and there seems to be so much to do all at once can be a little overwhelming.

Overwhelm prevents a lot of owners from taking action. This can lead to unwanted behaviour in the future. It's so much better to put the right training in place from the beginning, rather than wait until your dog develops behaviour struggles later on.

Polite Pups is a six week puppy training course designed to get you and your pup off to a really great start.

Training starts in the safety of your own home; it's fun and non-pressurised and can be done in just 5 to 10 minutes a day!

Here's an idea of what might be covered*

Toileting

Training your puppy to differentiate between appropriate and inappropriate toileting areas is essential and one of the first things you'll want to do.

Barking

Puppies may bark at unfamiliar things as they learn about their surroundings, but it's important to discourage this behaviour early on. Excessive barking can be bothersome for you and stressful for your puppy.

Visitors

Meeting new people can be a thrilling experience for your puppy, but it is important for them to learn how to greet people calmly and appropriately.

Walks

Going for walks can be overwhelming for young pups. Before taking them outside, it's essential to first teach them how to wear a harness and leash and walk beside you within the secure environment of your home.

Being Handled

Train your puppy to feel at ease with being handled, such as during veterinary visits or for routine care at home.

Other Dogs & Pets

Living in harmony is the ultimate objective. Educate your puppy on proper behaviour when interacting with other dogs and pets.
