Well-meaning family and friends offer their suggestions - "smack them on the nose", "squirt water at them", "pin them to the ground", "use a choke chain or a shock collar".
None of those sound appealing, right?
With so much dog training advice out there, it's difficult to know what to do for the best and what's going to be most successful.
In the end, overwhelm and fear of getting it wrong takes over, so you either do bits and pieces sporadically, or worse still, you do nothing at all.
Three months pass, six months pass, a year and you start to feel like this is your lot, that your dog will never change and there's nothing you can do about it.
And although Jack and I look like the happy owner and well-behaved dog you see in the photo, it wasn't always like this, I can assure you! We walked a very similar path to you!
On the one hand I wanted so much to love Jack and to have a nice life taking him on holidays, sitting outside cafes, gentle strolls along country lanes. Yet at the same time, I saw it as an impossible dream.
My life felt so miserable and hopeless and most days, my husband and I would inevitably have the rehoming debate and I would cry, copiously!
Until I decided to get a grip of myself. Jack wasn't a commodity, like a car, that I could just change at will because I didn't like the model!
I stopped making it about me and my life and started putting Jack first. And in that moment, everything changed.
Nowadays, Jack is my very cherished companion and well-behaved demonstration dog. He features in all of my demo videos for my online programs and social media campaigns. We are the Dream Team!
Today, I'm here to help you and your dog the way I needed someone to help me.
Now's your chance to create your very own dream team with your dog!
